Exchange

RATE OF EXCHANGE: The exchange rate in Argentina is convenient for the foreign tourist. The main banking area is located in the so-called “city”. This area comprises the first five blocks (numbered 100 to 500) of San Martín, Reconquista, 25 de Mayo, Sarmiento, Presidente Juan Domingo Perón and Mitre streets. The U.S. dollar is accepted in most shops, but it is convenient to exchange them for pesos in casas de cambio or banks.

Hey, that is right! If you go to Argentina with US Dollars, everything will be at a fraction of the cost. Especially the
apartment rental buenos aires is so convienient to us. Last year i rented an aprtment and it was really affordable! And so classy. I was able to eat in all kinds of restaurants.
Well, that was my experience.

Casas de cambio or exchange houses are very trustworthy in opposition to what some people call "arbolito". The arbolito are some businessmen who will try to sell or buy currencies at a better price but without giving you any receipt or ticket for the transaction. This may seem good since you do not care about the receipt, but it is not as good as it sounds. Some are thieves with bad intentions. They want to take advantage of the unwary tourists.
last year I was staying in an apartment in buenos aires near Florida street. Exchange houses and banks were full.
That is my advice!
